Medicaid FFS Claims moving to EAPG

Florida Medicaid is changing its reimbursement methodology for fee-for-service Medicaid to a bundled payment methodology developed by 3M known as Enhanced Ambulatory Patient Grouping (EAPG). This change will be effective for dates of service beginning July 1, 2017.

FSASC Member Legislative Alert 3.6.17

March 6, 2017 – While last week was quiet for ASC issues in the legislature, this week is a whole other story. Tomorrow is the first day of the 2017 Session and the 23 hour care and patient culture survey bill will be heard in the House Healthcare Appropriations Committee. Also this week is the introduction of Workers’ Compensation “fix” bills in both the House and Senate.

FSASC Member Legislative Alert 2.21.17

February 21, 2017 - After hearing testimony from FSASC leaders, the House Subcommittee on Health Innovations passed HB 145 unanimously. This bill has the language that authorizes ASCs to keep a patient up to 24 hours. This is the first time that the bill passed without an opposition. Thank you to Dr. Shapiro and Mike Madewell for their excellent testimony.

FSASC Member Legislative Alert 2.13.17

The 2017 Regular Legislative Session is set to convene on Tuesday, March 7th in Tallahassee. FSASC is seeing a lot of activity related to pre-filing bills and committee meetings prior to the start of session.

FSASC expects that several hot topics of importance to ASCs will be addressed such as Workers’ Compensation, 23 hour care, billing transparency and other related licensure bills.
