Florida’s hurricane season requires every ambulatory surgery center to remain prepared for potential weather-related disruptions. While each ASC is responsible for maintaining its own emergency management and continuity plans, there are state and federal resources available to support your preparedness and recovery efforts.

State Guidance & Regulatory Information

For official guidance related to emergency preparedness requirements, reporting obligations, closures, and reopening procedures, ASCs should reference:

• Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA)

• Florida Division of Emergency Management

• Local county emergency management offices

These agencies can provide the most current regulatory requirements, emergency orders, and documentation applicable to licensed facilities during a declared disaster.
